Tomorrow is the start of our schools Winterfest week. Now I am quite unsure of what this week really entails, but I am sure it is going to be pretty lame. I won't complain though because we get two pep fests and a dance out of the whole thing so I should be content. Last year it was not enjoyable though. Maybe it was the fact that I went to the dance with some people that i barely even know, maybe it was the fact that a week previous to the dance I bleached my bangs and had this really ugly hair-do going on, or maybe it was the fact that it was really cold... to tell you the truth I have no idea why I had a bad experience with Winterfest last year. This year is going to be different I am sure of it... I think. I guess I will just have to wait and see how it all turns out.
It is funny that I was thinking about this week in relation to the same time last year. I never really take the time consider where I am at in relation to past years. Where am I at or where was I at last year? Last year on this very day it was snowing in the little town of Winona MN. Last year I had just started my third quarter as a high school Freshmen. I was only fourteen! Just all together I was less aware and had a completely different view on my surroundings. My report cards were full of C's and I was a mess. Am I any different today...? I am only one year older but I feel like a completely different person that has undergone so much more.
And currently right now I have no idea what next year at this time of year is gonna look like. I would like to envision something really nice maybe some big snow flakes, lots of scarves and warm sweaters. But I think that’s what makes all of this so much fun, I have no idea what is gonna happen tomorrow. Monday here I come.
