To Poets and Freinds.

Ok, no joke! I am gonna start keeping up with this blog thing, I feel like it is very healthy or something for me to vent on a constant basis. Last time I blogged it was half through the year approaching my sophomore winterfest, well I now have less then twenty five days of school left and winterfest and prom are far, far behind me. Winterfest was like I predicted just okay.

I have had a very productive year when it comes to what I have really loved. In January I took place in my school One Act theatre competition. I first had to audition to get in the competing show, which thankfully I did. And then after weeks of practice of our thirty minute play titled “Hush Little Celia, Don’t Say A Word” we had two public performances accompanied by two other one act plays and improv. After we got good such a great reaction from the public we had two weeks to buckle down and get to business before we went to competition. We first competed at Sub-Sections where we placed first and then at Sections where we placed third and did not advance to State. Even though we did not advance to State, the show was a complete blast and what a great bonding experience with the ten other members in the cast! I had a pretty small part only getting to play a coffee house MC and a bitchy drama assistant, but the show made a big impact on my winter months.

Our Symphonic Band has been just busy throughout the whole year. In the first week of January we traveled from the lower bowels of Minnesota and went to the heart of our state and got to perform part of MN Music Educator Association’s Mid Winter Clinic. In the audience we had music educators from all around MN to come litsen to us perform and do what we pride ourselves in most. Our selection varied from a tone poem titled “Roma Sacra” by Luigi Zaninelli which took the listeners through the many pictures and scenes of ancient Rome to “Play!” by Carl Holmquist which basically rejoices in the performance of music. I have very much enjoyed every minute of being apart of such a great and well respected ensemble and have grown so much playing wise, through the expectations set for each member.

This is a recap only though mid January so I will be posting very soon the rest of what has happened. Here is some photography from while I was away and not blogging:
