A Midsummer's Night Love, Labor and Lost with Romeo and Friends

Even though I do like to rant and say how boring Winona is in the middle of the summer's heat. I have to admit that Winona is perfect in many ways - something artsy is always going on, or at least in the surounding area. Just in July and June i have been witness to some spectacular preformances - ranging from HAIR at UWL, multiple dance recitals, three concerts from the MN Beethoven Festival, a piano recital, art showings, and two shows put on by the Great River Shakespeare Festival. It is just smazing what i am always up to - because there is always some concert or show preforming at any given moment and I wouldn't like it any other way.

So with my family in town and a tight schedule, today was my only free day to go do anything. I had the option of going and seeing Honk! across the river or go to a free public preformance of monolouges and scenes from shakespeare by young actors from the community. Not only was the Shakespeare preformance free but it had one of my friends in it - so i decided that i had to go. This preformance of Shakespeare was the culmanation of a 10 day seminar / camp where young actors get to work with the profesional company from the Great River Skakespeare Festival. I know what a oppurtunity!! The program itself was intense with scenes from Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, 12 Night, Midsummer's Night Dream, Julias Ceasar and more... The Actors were just phenomenal. And to think I almost attended Honk!

I know in the near future i am going to get out of here but for right now i am okay just living in small town surounded by the bluffs, living life.
